There is a charming place in Sicily: Vendicari and its Nature reserve. It is in the very south of Sicily, even more in the south than Tunisi, where Ghibli, blowing from Africa, parches the air and bears red and thin sand grains which cover the terraces of manor farms.

Every year, 500 pink flamingos come from Africa to nest. They fly over the ancient tuna-fish factory and over the beaches where turtles lay eggs from time immemorial. Their flight path draws a wonderful pink cloud and creates an amazing color game that communicates the strong vitality of this land.
